I am happy to present this old favorite in a new format. During the 7 or so years that I had my band, The Traitors, this was what we considered to be our big “hit.” It is the song most people seemed to request or enjoy, many of our friends participated in the filming of the video, and we almost always closed our sets with it. Little Pioneer helped me update it with new vocals, including a revamped pre-chorus and tighter harmonies on the chorus. Originally, Liana Hernandez sang the bridge, and she was amazing on it. I tried to capture her spirit here with my solo performance take on it. People have heard this story before, but I wrote this song on at trip to England and Germany by myself, leaving my fiance Dylan at home. Dancing to cheesy pop songs at GAY Late in London, I was missing my guy and thinking I’d like to write a catchy little ear worm dedicated to him.
lyrics
didn’t wanna move too fast
so much pain in my past
unsure if it would last
acting tough but feeling insecure
juggling so many balls
bouncing off the walls
hanging til last calls
holding out but what for
i'm sorry that I made you wait
i’m not one to believe in fate
now we’re in a better state
there’s no need to hesitate
cause you can change my heartbeat
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
i want a life with you
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
i’ve never been so sure
this time i know it’s true
say goodbye to all my fear
when I look in the mirror
it all becomes so clear
you learn to swim so you won’t drown
looking back on yesterday
hear the music play
we’ll always be this way
All I searched for now I found
i'm sorry that I made you wait
i’m not one to believe in fate
now we’re in a better state
there’s no need to hesitate
cause you can change my heartbeat
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
i want a life with you
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
i’ve never been so sure
this time i know it’s true
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
Get up on your feet, your journey’s not complete
Just move to the beat and don’t give up
Get up on your feet, your journey’s not complete
Just move to the beat and don’t give up on love
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
i want a life with you
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
i’ve never been so sure
this time i know it’s true
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
i want a life with you
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
i’ve never been so sure
i know this much is true
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want
now i know what i want, i know i know what i want
now i know what i want

Written by Devin Tait. Mixed by Little Pioneer. Bass by Brandon Strecker. Guitar by Ryan Canestro.
Having transplanted himself from Kansas to California around the turn of the millennium, Devin Tait quickly found himself
derailed from his original plan to join a boyband. Meeting a couple of guitar playing lesbians at karaoke led Tait to form the band Shitting Glitter with Amy Crosby and Von Edwards. After nearly a decade with the band, Tait decided it was time to branch out on his own....more
S No S is a musical project from Brandon Strecker (Devin's brother) spanning many years and miles, but staying true to Brandon's voice, with collaborations from friends and family. Devin Tait
Turbo Sunshine is a band fronted by Brandon Strecker, with Devin Tait on Synths and Dolly Dagger on drums. A love letter to 90's industrial with a wink and smile. Devin Tait
I was a member of Shitting Glitter for nearly a decade, and this was our last recording I made with the band and is, in my opinion, our masterpiece. Devin Tait
